Something Eating my Basil

I have something eating holes in my basil and I would like to know how to deal with it. I have tried using a little dish soap and water but the bugs keep eating the plants. I do not want to use pesticides.

Use Neem oil. It is completely harmless for mammals. Just wash the basil with dishwash soap before using to get rid of the rotten onion smell.
