Asking about wormwood germination [by phone]:
Wormwood should be surface sown, pressed into the surface and kept moist.
Wormwood should only take 4 to 6 days to germinate. If it does not, try cooling the seedflat out of doors for about a week when outside night temperatures are close to freezing. Bringing it back to the greenhouse should then result in fairly rapid germination.
We have experienced some problems with damping off this spring with this seed, but leaving the flats outside to germinate when outside temperatures are right for germination may alleviate the problem. In the greenhouse, watering with chamomile tea might help suppress the fungus problem.
